This year the Friends of Wynberg Park will again plant some indigenous trees in Wynberg Park in line with Cape Town’s Arbor Month traditions. This will be done on Friday 26th September at 11:00 am in the south of the park along the stream nearest to Springfield School. Like last year, Wynberg Boys High and Springfield School will be assisting them.
As we are nearing the end of our rainy weather, this is not the ideal time. Hence we will plant only a few trees. The Friends of Wynberg Park have already planted approximately 40 indigenous trees in July and most of these are showing strong growth.
Wynberg Park is looking very lush enhanced by the sprouting of the deciduous trees. Many of the trees are already in flower whereas others are starting to bloom. By the end of this month, the Cape Chestnuts along 58th Avenue should look spectacular.
If you are available, please join them.
